We are kindergarten teachers

Many people think that it is easy to be a kindergarten teacher:  no pressure, just singing and dancing with a group of kids every day. I should tell you that what you said is just the surface. Frankly speaking, it is not as simple as you imagine. For this job covers various fields, from white collar jobs to blue collar jobs. As a kindergarten teacher, you should not only be very responsible, patient, and love kids, but you should also have professional skills. Sometimes we pretend to be actors to play with the lovely children. Then we act as doctors and look after the patients. After a while, we act as policemen to chase the criminals. Sometimes we pretend to be fierce wolves to catch rabbits. We need to play different roles to get along with these lovely children.
One day, the children were changing their shoes in the classroom before PE class. Suddenly some boys got together and discussed something. I stopped their discussion without thinking: "Hurry up and put on your shoes. We need to go!" The children looked at each other and went away reluctantly. After a while, the kids collected again but I didn‘t stop them this time. I tip toed over to them and found that they were watching a spider. I was moved by their serious spirit so I joined their discussion as well. Children were more enthusiastic thanks to my participation, and I answered a series of their questions. After observation, I suggested we play a game of "Spiderman". I almost forgot my age and identity while playing with the children. On the way to the playground, I talked with the children about Spiderman, and I also changed my way of walking and acted like a spider. At that time, I was their big friend. They had a lot of fun and I also enjoyed our play.
In addition, I act as a coordinator sometimes to solve children‘s disputes. "Teacher, he refused to give me the toy." "Teacher, he refused to play with me." "Teacher, he said I was naughty." "Teacher, he hit me." Every day I deal with various complaints.
I act as both accompaniment and conductor during music activities,  making up a dance or composing music.
I act as a guide when we travel and walk in front with a flag.
I act as a detective when some child loses his project, and I help him find what‘s lost.
I act as a porter and designer when the class gets promoted.
I act as a hostess in the parents‘ meeting or report meeting.
It is worth mentioning that I always act as an environmentalist. The leaflets, discarded Coke cans, and boxes are all our treasure to make props, although the materials mean nothing in others‘ eyes. I still remember the KC and KD Environment Protection Competition, when we took advantage of discarded milk cartons to make the Great Wall with children, including Yu Menguan Pass, Shan Haiguan Pass, Zi Jingguan Pass and Niang Ziguan Pass. The most creative idea was offered by Fan Shujia, the teacher of KD1. Most of the milk cartons placed in a breezy part of the hallway fell down. Ms Fan had a great idea and drew a picture of the legendary Lady Meng Jiang wailing on the Great Wall.. I believe she is entitled to be the Environmental Protection Ambassador if we ever hold the contest.
There are so many things in our daily life which reflect that it is not easy to be kindergarten teachers. However, no matter what difficulties we meet, we are satisfied when we see children‘s naïve smiles and their wistful eyes. When they say "Hello teacher!", our hearts are purified. The children start to know the world through our teaching and they experience the wonders of nature, which make us feel so proud of ourselves. Maybe as a kindergarten teacher, I‘m not rich, and I don‘t have wealth. However I love my life and enjoy my job, which is the most valuable thing in the world.
We are happy being kindergarten teachers!
